Mindfulness Mentor CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS.
I began my personal practice while suffering from chronic fatigue, having been a highly energetic and engaged young person. Cultivating mindfulness and associated qualities such as self-compassion increased my capacity to accept being unwell, and laid a pathway to restore my physical health. Since that time mindfulness greatly supported me in my professional career in environmental consultancy, as well as in relationships and all aspects of daily life. With a strong background in ecology I especially enjoy supporting others who have a commitment, either personally or professionally, towards improving the ways we treat each other and the planet. With over 20 years experience of practicing mindfulness in daily life, I greatly enjoy supporting others to reveal the authenticity and well-being that this practice allows. I enjoy mentoring others in their mindfulness practice, finding skillful and compassionate ways to attend and respond to life. There is strong research evidence that mindfulness can be beneficial for our mental as well as physical health. Mindfulness mentoring sessions can be complementary to counselling or psychotherapy, however, those with significant mental health needs should address these first through counselling or psychotherapy. The individual mentoring sessions that I offer are best suited for people who have some mindfulness practice – have attended a course or retreat and who bring mindfulness into their daily lives. During the session we can explore what’s arising in your practice, how to bring mindfulness and compassion to pain or illness, difficult emotions and patterns of thinking, and develop skills for improving your sense of well-being. Mentoring sessions are suitable for you whether you approach mindfulness as a religious, spiritual, or entirely secular practice - in other words I am flexible to work with your way of approaching mindfulness and what you want to get out of the sessions. Please note I am currently unable to see clients who are using the Work and Income counselling subsidy, more details here. To book a mindfulness mentoring session, or to discuss any questions you may have, contact me on 027 210 2406 or via email on [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you. |
